If you're weighing BookingTerminal against Peek Pro, you've probably already been through the comparison lists and taken a sales call or two. What's missing at this point isn't information — it's a straight answer from someone who isn't about to promise you they'll "unlock your booking potential."
So here's ours. Where Peek is the better call, where we are, and what working with BookingTerminal feels like once the demo is over and you're running a season on it.
Peek Pro Is Built for Bigger Teams With Time to Work the Tools
Peek has put real work into the marketing side of the business, and those tools do what they claim. Abandoned-cart recovery, upsells, promotional campaigns, dynamic pricing, AI-assisted content — on real volume, worked properly, that's a meaningful lift. We're not going to pretend otherwise.
The catch is in "worked properly." Marketing tooling doesn't pay off by being switched on. It pays off when somebody sits with it — reviewing which campaigns are firing, testing what a discount actually does to your mix, chasing the bookings sitting out in the long tail where the last few percent of your revenue lives. Past a certain size that's somebody's job — and for an operation with the volume to justify it and the staff to do it, Peek is a strong fit, because the tools give back more than the hours you put in.
Below that size, the person working those tools is you — and your marketing hours probably have somewhere better to go. Most operators we talk to don't want to run a marketing department on the side. And the marketing time they do have pays better elsewhere: partnerships with hotels and concierges, content that reaches people who've never heard of you, building a name in your own town. That's the work that fills next season. Recovering an abandoned cart is optimization — worth real money once you've got a steady stream of people finding you, and a tough place to start when you don't. What operators in that spot want from booking software is narrower — the bookings they already have moving through without friction, and less of the day lost to admin work. That's not a smaller ambition. It's a different business.
So the honest question isn't which platform has more features. It's which of those two businesses you're running. If you're on Peek now and you keep meaning to get to the marketing side and never quite do, our guide to what switching booking software actually looks like walks through the whole process.
Where BookingTerminal Is Different
Our pitch isn't a longer feature list. It's what your week looks like once the demo is over.
You get a person, not a support ticket. A dedicated account manager from day one — someone who learns how your operation runs, gets you set up, and stays your point of contact after that. When you need something changed or want to add an offering, you're not explaining your business from scratch to whoever happens to answer. You're talking to someone who already knows it. It's the thing operators bring up first when they tell us why they moved.
You get a platform that isn't in your way. There's a version of "powerful" that means every screen is crowded with options you don't use, and your seasonal staff spend their first weeks learning or relearning the software instead of the job. We went the other direction: however particular your operation is, the rules get built in during setup, and then stay out of your way during the day to day — there when you need to change something, invisible when you don't. We've written more on why simplicity wins, but the short version is that software you have to think about is software that's costing you something.
You know what it costs. On both platforms the online booking fee is charged to the guest at checkout, so what matters is what it adds to your price. Ours is 5%, and most operators on Peek are paying 6%. If you want the wider picture, our breakdown of how booking software fees work covers every category.
Who BookingTerminal Is Actually For
Our customers run the whole range — solo guides with a weekend tour, boat cruise operations running multiple boats, rental shops, ghost tours, multi-location operations doing thousands of bookings a season. Size isn't what they have in common. It's that they'd rather have a platform built for the people using it every day, with someone real behind it when something needs attention.
If that sounds like your business, we're worth a half hour. And if you've got the volume and the staff to work Peek's marketing tools properly, that's a fair reason to stay where you are — we'd rather tell you that now than nine months from now.
Don't Take Our Word for It
Book a demo with both of us. Ask the uncomfortable questions: what will my rate be and what makes it change, who I'd actually be working with day to day, how long setup really takes. Pay attention to how each conversation goes, not just what's on the screen. You'll learn more in two half-hour calls than in any comparison post, this one included.
If you want to see ours, here's where to book it. We'll show you what your setup would look like, answer whatever you throw at us, and tell you if it isn't a fit.
